Founded on the African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child,” ViVa was created by four individuals who saw the need to strengthen the Black community and bridge the cultural gap across the Rio Grande Valley.

ViVa hosts its largest Juneteenth celebration, honoring Black history and culture in the Valley.
Free clothing support for families in need launches on the 2nd Saturday of every month.
120+ members, $9.6K in scholarships awarded, and 320 Thanksgiving meals distributed to seniors across the RGV.
