Founded on the African proverb “it takes a village,” ViVa was started by four individuals who saw the need to strengthen connections within the Black community and bridge the cultural gap across the Rio Grande Valley.
Preserving and celebrating Black heritage, and building real cross-cultural connection.
Creating spaces for connection, education, advocacy, volunteering, and leadership.
Supporting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business visibility.
Village in the Valley (ViVa) was founded to strengthen connections within the Black community and to create a safe space to gather, connect, and grow.

Memberships are valid for one year from the date of sign-up and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
